Panagiotis Liargovas received his BA degree from the University of Athens in 1985 and his MA and Ph.D degrees in Economics from Clark University, Worcester MA. His Dissertation title was  "Sectoral Effects of Real Exchange Rate Uncertainty on Trade: A Case Study of the Greek Trade Flows". He has been a Fulbright Scholar (1991), a Bakalas Foundation Scholar: 1988-1991, a Teaching Assistant Scholar (Clark University): 1987-1991 and a European Commission  Scholar (stage), Brussels 1987.   He has taught in many Universities including Clark University, Bologna University, the Universities of: Athens, Patras and Crete and the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is currently Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Peloponnese, teaching International Economics, Macroeconomics and European Economic integration. He is also the Chair of the Department and the Director of two post-graduate programs, in “Economic Analysis” and “Public Management”, respectively. He is Member of the Board of Directors of the “European Regional Master’s Degree in Democracy and Human Rights in South-East Europe”(participating 10 European Universities). He is the author of eleven books (one in English) and the editor of two books in English. He has published various articles in areas such as Open Economy Macroeconomics and European economics. His articles appear in journals, such as International Journal of Economics and Finance, Applied Economics Letters, Review of Urban and Regional Development Studies, Journal of Developing Areas, Social Indicators Research, Annals of Regional Science, Open Economies Review, Regional Studies, Small Business Economics, etc. He is reviewer for many journals. He is member of the editorial board of the “Encyclopedia of Quality of Life Research”, SRINGER SCIENCE. He was President of the Organizing Committee: 1st International Workshop on Economics and Finance, University of Peloponnese, Department of Economics, June 16-17 2007, Tripolis and Partner (co-organizer) of the 2nd International Conference of the Global Network of Government Innovators, Boston, Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, March, 31– April, 2   2008.
